Kerry Soelberg is a proud Utahn, a loving husband and father of 5 children and 16 grandchildren, and an active resident of West Jordan for 36 years.

Kerry studied political science at BYU and then earned a masters degree in Public Administration. In addition, he accumulated about 40 additional credit hours at the University of Utah. He worked for 38 years for the State of Utah as an auditor and an Administrative Services Manager where he managed multi-million dollar budgets (he likes to balance to the penny).

In addition to his profession, Kerry has been incredibly involved in public service doing the following:

  • Served as a member then chair of the West Jordan Masterplan Committee.

  • Volunteered in weekly addiction recovery meetings at the Utah State Prison for 5 years

  • Served as a member of a West Jordan City Citizens' Budget Committee

  • Loved serving in scouting for over 25 years as a Scoutmaster, Varsity Coach, district official, etc. and 5 years as a Scoutmaster in a Hispanic scout troop in Magna.

  • Served as an Area Director for an all-Volunteer weeklong scout camp in southeastern Utah for 11 years

  • Coached youth soccer, softball and Junior Jazz basketball for many seasons

  • Held many lay religious positions

Kerry is an active Utahn who greatly enjoys the beauty of this state. He regularly hikes and bikes in the summer and is a season ticket holder at Alta Ski Resort.
